Recording a video portrait.

Once you can see a video image in the left hand side you are ready to start recording you video portrait.

Click to Record.

Listen to the question. If you do not understand the question click on the 'REPLAY QUESTION' button. If you do not want to answer the question then click on the 'REPLAY QUESTION' button.

After you have listened to the question and have understood it click on the 'CLICK TO RECORD' button. This is like pressing the record button on a video recorder. Everything that appears in the right video screen will be recorded after you have clicked this button.

In the middle of the web page is a clock counting down from 45 seconds. This means that you have 45 seconds to answer each question. If you finish before this click the 'STOP RECORDING' button.

Replay Answer

After recording your answer you may wish to review it. Click on the 'REPLAY ANSWER' button and the left hand screen.

Re-record Answer

If you do not like your answer then you can re-record it by clicking the 'RE-RECORD' button.

Finish/Exit Interview

Once you have answered all the questions click the 'FINISH' button. If you wish to finnish the interview early click the 'EXIT' button. Once you have finsihed your interview your video portrait will be posted to the map, using the postcode you entered during registration.

Viewing your Portrait

To view your video portrait return to the main map page, by clicking on the HOME menu item in the top right hand corner.

Select 'LATEST ADDITIONS' from the left hand navigation. You should see your portrait in the menu on the lower right had side of the page.

Video

You will need a web-cam to record your video portrait. Most domestic web-cams will work with the system.

When you load the page to record your won portrait you will be asked to allow landscape-portait.com access to your camera and microphone. Click 'Allow'.

You should see your image in the right hand panel of the recording screen. After you have started the recording, you will be able to review your answers, this is a good way of checking that you have recorded both video and audio.

Audio

Audio can be recorded via your web-cam, separate microphone or via your computers internal microphone. As with the video recording it is advisable to record an answer to the first question and then click on the 'Replay Answer' button to make sure you have recorded both video and sound.
